Consent is an important topic to learn about and there is always more to learn. We continue to define what consent means to us and each other. There are also a lot of different situations that have never really been modeled for people. The purpose of the Consent Made Simple series is to provide examples of positive examples of consent being properly observed from a variety of different situations and viewpoints. These scenarios apply to any person of any gender.
Episode 21
This episode takes us into a club where a couple approaches someone dancing. They indicate that they would like to buy that person a drink. They also state that they are interested in seeing if that person would like to come home with them for a threesome.
It’s important when we are seeking someone’s consent that we are clear about what and who will be participating in the activity. The person consenting needs to have a solid understanding of what they are consenting to. Without being informed of what actually is going to happen, their consent can’t be real. They are missing crucial information that may change the decision they make.
